Choppelganger

A portmanteau of 'chopped' (unattractive, in the argot) and 'doppelgänger': Merriam-Webster defines it as 'a less attractive version of someone or something.' The coinage does efficiently what most insults require a sentence to achieve.

Its natural habitat is the TikTok comparison video, where strangers are paired with their diminished doubles for the crowd's consideration. Earliest documented use runs from late February to March 2026 — still early enough that the word outruns the think-pieces. It will not.
